Courses 2011-2012
Drawing, design, embroidery and weaving:
A three-year course to become a textile craftsman/craftswoman
No previous experience needed. The course gives the students the skills needed to work as an independent textile craftsman. The school has following goals that we want to give the students the possibility to achieve during the 3-years course:
- the capacity of esthetical and visual thinking
- to look creatively upon once work
- skill and a strong feeling of good quality
- expertise knowledge of textile material and different techniques
As many of our students will be self-employed after graduation, five weeks of Basic Economics are included in the course.
The school year consists of 40 weeks / 800 hrs (the total for 3 years are 2 400 hrs)
The subjects are:
- Design, especially for weaving and embroidery 528 hrs
- Weaving structure 156 hrs
- Weaving 756/1028* hrs
- Embroidery 204/476* hrs
- Textile material, spinning, dyeing 84 hrs
- Economy 100 hrs
- Textile history 80 hrs
- Individual work in first and second grade 120 hrs
- Examination, third grade 100 hrs
*Students have the opportunity to choose between weaving and embroidery with 272 hrs in the third grade.

Tapestry weaving - Introduction: 80 lessons in 3 weeks, summercourse
All class instructions are in Swedish. Non-Swedish speaking students are requested to prepare for their studies by attending an intensive course in Swedish. Information available on request.
